We are forced to begin our new year on a sad note. The level of
insecurity in our country is very perturbing. The extent of senseless
killings witnessed in Naivasha Yesterday is a worrying trend in terms of
security for this nation. Everywhere seems insecure these days.
Security of an ordinary person is so compromised that their deaths every
day seems a far cry to the concerned personnel. Security management
issues in Kenya seems to be falling out with the defence of this nation.
Lives are falling off carelessly everyday. We can't take it given the
blood shed of ordinary people.
No one has the capacity to give a life to a fellow human being. It
is even pinching to think of it that another person somewhere has the
audacity to commit murder and get away with it. The innocent lives lost
in cold blood has come to a shocking level and needs to be tamed if at
all our government cares about the citizens. It is the responsibility of
the government of Kenya to take care the well being of citizenry
including providing a secure environment that can enable people to carry
on their daily activities without anxiety and worry about their
security. Everyone needs the peace of mind to think better and enhance
the conditions of his or her life.
The families of the fallen persons are left with a void that is too big
to fill. some are the sole bread winners and as a result, their families
are left dis arrayed on way forward. The sleepless nights and gruelling
pain notwithstanding is an immoral scar that criminals are treating
citizens to. The aspect of innocent bloodshed is our main concern on
this issue. Who will account to that blood.? What kind of explanation do
these vicious criminals have to just the blood shed? And when they
incur this kind of pain, whom are they punishing? The country's
leadership needs to wake to this reality and assure the citizen's
security.
The fact that their lives are well protected with an arm and a tooth
doesn't mean the same thing for the common person on the street. The
river between that is seen in security administration needs to improve.
It is a right of every human being to be treated with dignity no matter
who they are. This is a constitutional mandate that the government of
Kenya have to ensure is carried out regardless of whether they like it
or not. It is the duty of the state to punish crimes to protect people
and country from being tossed here and there by criminal gangs. We
therefore appeal to the state to ensure that the careless manner in
which life is lost in the hands of crime is tamed. The immoral effect of
hacking people to death is running out of hand and must be controlled
regardless of the state of equipment available to provide security in
the country. It is not in the interest of citizens to know whether the
Government is well equipped or lacks competent security skills to
control crime but all we want is a clean environment where business and
life can exist without looking paranoid.
